  • Overview / Responsibilities

     Wood is currently seeking a Senior Human Resources Administrator to join our People and Organization team in the Tucker, Georgia office. Candidate requirement is 5-10 years of previous experience in human resources, specifically craft and skilled labor. Major responsibilities will include senior administrative transactions and data management related to hiring, terminations and other employment changes. This experienced Senior Administrative Role will also administer payroll maintenance, intake employee complaints, compile compensation data, and assist with administration in the recruiting and onboarding functions.

    Essential Functions:


    • The role is important in the pre-employment process including the preparation of offer letters, new-hire paperwork, background screening, drug testing, E-Verify / I-9 compliance and system account creation
    • Primary liaison with payroll and shared services on all HRIS and pay transactions
    • Payroll administration will include new hire data entry, changes and terminations, and payroll related tasks for mobilization/demobilization to assignments
    • Reconciliation of departmental service invoices
    • Provide standard and ad hoc departmental reports in a timely fashion
    • Complete employment verifications and unemployment claims   
    • Prepare documentation for terminations, notification to appropriate internal departments and as state required notices
    • Intake and delegate questions related to health and welfare plans
    • Refer difficult or complex complaints to P&O manager as needed
    • Advise P&O management of potential problem areas and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate. Act as a resource for payroll/P&O contacts to ensure their understanding and compliance with benefits and P&O policies and procedures.
    • Partner with Strategic Resourcing team to assist with recruitment activities related to pre-employment and onboarding
    • Assist with administration of Affirmative Action plan
    • Other responsibilities include assisting in the service award plan, eligibility/statistical data reporting, preparation of turnover reports and other reports as needed.
    • Intake of employee relations calls with ability to take notes and refer information
    • Conducts exit interviewing
    • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
    • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory
    • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as requested for data analysis
    • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
    • Administers all federal compliance files and records
    • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

    Skills / Qualifications


    • A knowledge of Human Resources laws, procedures and practices
    • The ability to understand reports and analysis requests and provide data as needed Familiarity with recruitment and onboarding tasks and responsibilities
    • Must possess the ability to recognize a problem, extrapolate to related issues and determine an appropriate response
    • The ability to manage time, workload and projects effectively as well as request support when needed
    • Possess the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
    • Be a role model to all employees in conducting one’s professional live in an ethical fashion, follow the P&O guidelines and procedures and ensure Wood’s vision and values are demonstrated consistently
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists


    Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Human Resources


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The required work week is 40 hours, Monday thru Friday. Occasionally, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.



    0-20% to assist administration as needed for job site reporting and administrative requirements


    Required Education and Experience:

    A bachelor’s degree and five years human resource experience, or five to ten years of relevant experience in an Industrial Human Resources environment, or seven to ten years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications:


    • PHR or SHRM-SCP certification is not required but is beneficial to the role
    • Previous experience working with a HRIS system is required
    • Prior Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
    • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
