  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Estimator with primary responsibility for disciplines related to Divisions 4 through 14 to work within the Construction and Remediation group that performs construction and remediation projects for multiple internal business sectors and external markets. The position will report to the Estimating Manager/Chief Estimator.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company
    • Estimate conceptual through issued for bid documents
    • Work in several delivery formats such as hard bid, design build, guaranteed maximum price, etc.
    • Analyze drawings, specifications, RFP documents, and subcontractor proposals
    • Pricing of take-off (labor, material and subcontractor) within primary estimating discipline
    • Estimate utilizing uni-format and CSI format breakdown of estimate
    • Develop subcontractor bid list and solicit subcontractors for bidding
    • Maintain relationships with subcontractors within primary estimating discipline
    • Discuss scope and pricing during bid period with subcontractors
    • Fully scope subcontractors to ensure pricing and scope are complete and accurate
    • Understand and participate in providing scheduling input and feedback related to primary estimating discipline
    • Write contractual scope of work(s) within primary estimating discipline
    • Participate in bid day activities working with team of estimators, other support staff, and executives
    • Work with individuals in other departments (Scheduling, Operations, Proposal Preparation, Safety, Supply Chain, etc.)
    • Work as a part of a preconstruction team participating in:
      • Constructability Reviews
      • Value Engineering exercises
      • Meeting and working with design professionals
      • Meeting and working with subcontractor partners
      • Producing milestone estimates
    • Crosstrain other estimators in your primary discipline

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related discipline
    • 10+ years estimating experience
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
    • Proficient in the use of on-screen take-off software (currently use On Center On-Screen Take-Off)
    • Proficient in the use of electronic estimating software (currently use Sage Timberline)
    • Strong interpersonal, creative solution and problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Willing to travel on an as needed basis
