  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Entry-level Civil Engineer to provide support on general civil engineering projects in the Lakeland, FL office. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. Master’s degree a plus. AutoCAD and GIS training or knowledge is desired, and experience with ICPR and WaterCAD considered beneficial. Must have an Engineering Intern or Engineer-In-Training designation or be able to obtain within 6 months.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Provide civil engineering and project management and be responsible for delivering civil and environmental projects to Wood’s public and private sector clients
    • Serve as project engineer on civil engineering related projects
    • Organize, schedule, and prioritize assignments and tasks
    • Perform standard or routine calculations; responsible to input data into and/or run standard or, in some cases, advanced computer programs under supervision
    • Prepare and check project design, calculations, and drawings under direct supervision
    • Assist with preparing engineering reports documenting the work performed and findings of analyses
    • Compile information from reports and published documents; evaluate and/or analyze the compiled information following standard methods or specific instructions

    Skills / Qualifications

    • 0 – 2 years of prior related work experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
    • Engineer-in-Training Certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months
    • Experience with desktop and industry-specific software (e.g., MSOffice, AutoCAD, ESRI GIS, and ICPR) desired
    • Must have sound written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in varying environments (office and field settings).
    • Ability to establish effective internal and external working relationship
    • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, supervisor or project manager regarding work assignments required
    • Valid Florida driver’s license
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
