Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a motivated professional with 5– 10 years of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling experience to join our Water, Geospatial and Technology Group. The applicant will complete and/or assist with various engineering projects related to water resources and civil engineering. These projects may include, but are not limited to, hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses, dam inundation studies, storm water planning and design, water quality modelling and watershed master planning. Typical clients include FEMA, NCDOT, Duke Energy, CSX and various state and local governments.
In addition to the tasks listed above, the applicant will complete new H&H analyses and floodplain mapping that conform to FEMA’s guidelines and specifications for the National Flood Insurance Program. These tasks will involve the use of various H&H engineering software as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software. The applicant may lead a project team, completing quality control reviews and overseeing H&H analyses completed by the team. The applicant will assist in the management of engineering tasks and projects, including cost estimates and scheduling.
The applicant may also support the development of Hazard Mitigation Plans that meet Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA 2000) standards.
