  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Manager of Supplier Management,  based in the Houston, TX 77084 office.

    Must live within a reasonable commute, no relocation package will be provided.

    • Acting as a critical interface between Supply Chain, suppliers, and Master Data Management to ensure that specific suppliers are vetted in accordance to business requirements and established procedures.
    • Manage risk within the supplier base, ensuring that Supplier Management Specialists are performing appropriate levels of due diligence on potential new suppliers and existing suppliers per established procedures to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, i.e. Master Data Management (MDM), Financial Service Center (FSC), Information Technology (IT), etc., to ensure the accuracy of the Supplier data in the Supplier Master Database.
    • Monitor Supplier Performance Assessments to ensure Project Teams and Supply Chain personnel are in compliance with established procedures and report on overall performance metrics
    • Identify supplier risk with respect to overall supplier performance and develop mitigation plans to alleviate potential loss to the business.
    • Identify Suppliers who present higher risks to the company based on their past performance and manage communications of supplier advisories throughout the organization.
    • Lead the communications between the business and high-risk suppliers to develop corrective action plans.
    • Perform data analysis and develop reports with regards to the supplier database and supplier performance assessments.
    • Drive process improvements with regards to supplier rationalization, standardization, and eligibility standards.
    • Support Category Managers with their supplier relationship management activities for respective category.
    • Serve as key stakeholder for the supply chain organization in M&A entity simplification and data migration projects to effectively manage change management activities.



    • Ability to identify root causes to issues and pro-actively resolving problems, leveraging cross-functional business partnerships.
    • Ability to draw insight from analysis, and to effectively summarize and present insight based on the needs of the audience.
    • Ability to identify process improvement initiatives and develop business cases with minimal oversight.
    • Experience building relationships with key stakeholders utilizing excellent communication and advanced interpersonal skills with a focus on building working relationships across multiple functions in order to effectively manage successful implementation of new Supplier Management initiatives
    • Experience in managing and leading change initiatives involving significant impacts to the organization.
    • Experience in conducting thorough spend analysis for goods and services and develop methodology, metrics and tools to identify key suppliers across in both goods and services space.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Business and financial acumen.
    • Ability to communicate persuasively with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to cultivate relationships with suppliers, key business partners & executives.
    • Knowledge and understanding of industry practices, with some familiarity with the types of material, equipment, and services being procured

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related field.
    • Knowledge of project and operational supply chain functions, including buying, expediting, supply and delivery
    • 5+ years of experience with Sourcing and Procurement roles with demonstrated success with in-depth strategic and operational sourcing and procurement management, a demonstrated working knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management
    • Proficient with Excel and MS Office Suite. Oracle ERP systems and BI knowledge a plus.
    • Authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.
