    Wood is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Lead with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This position is based out of our Anchorage office and is not rotational. 


    Description of Functions:


    To ensure the establishment and proper implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) Quality Controls (QC) within the Construction, Engineering & Delivery Teams, while lending support to the other supporting Business Units as necessary. Supports the Alaska BP Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Contract on any integrity and assurance issues and provides direct updates to the Quality Manager. 



    • Provides technical expertise and assistance to all Construction, Engineering & Delivery Teams to ensure compliance with the Wood Management System and related, technical integrity and assurance issues
    • Ensures, verifies and monitors QA / QC document traceability and transmittal for EPC projects
    • Perform scheduled periodic Assessments of the QC activities on the Slope, in order to ensure that the Client’s & Wood’s deliverables are met
    • Develop and review the QA / QC section of pre-job, and project close-out reports
    • Makes regular, scheduled visits to Slope in order to ensure (via audits, gap, analysis, observations, etc) compliance with the technical components of the Wood Management System (welding & NDE execution, calibration, and workshop activity)
    • Provides dedicated, but prioritized support EPC projects, and develops the Quality Plan and supporting QAQC documentation, inclusive of welding procedures, ITPs, hydrostatic plans, NDE procedure reviews, etc
    • Attend the Project Kick Off and risk assessment meetings to ensure Quality input
    • Liaise with the Client and all Slope QC Inspection Teams to identify, plan and execute all project activities
    • Perform Internal Quality Audits on a scheduled basis, as part of the Quality Department’s Internal Audit Team
    • Contribute to the certification of (and/or maintenance of) the Wood Management system towards ISO 9001
    • Advises and informs Quality Manager on QA / QC issues, status and metrics via documented reports
    • Identifies and evaluates Quality-related incidents & non-conformances and initiates, recommends, and provides effective solutions where necessary
    • Ensures the integration of Risk assessment and mitigation elements within the planning and execution of all operational activities. This should include the appraisal/selection, define and execution stages
    • Perform all other related job functions as required


    Skills / Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • AWS certified Welding Inspector
    • Lead or Internal Quality Auditor certification
    • ASNT Level II
    • API 510 Certification
    • An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
    • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC), Preferred.
    • Rigger Level 1 (NCCO), Preferred.
    • Overhead Crane (NCCO), Preferred
    • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications.
