  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Mid-Senior Electrical Engineer in the Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, PA metropolitan areas. The position will support Wood’s building design and engineering practice, work alongside various multi-disciplinary engineering and architecture teams executing projects for Wood clients across the globe. Wood offers the technical challenges of projects located throughout the world, while also focusing on sustaining and growing local client relationships. The position will support ongoing work for federal, industrial, commercial, and energy clients on a wide variety of building design projects. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to support a growing design practice with a global reach. This individual will; be a self-starter able to foster internal and external relationships, possess the ability to work as an integral part of a project team, interface with both internal and external project team members, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams.

     

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Mid-Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for developing electrical engineering designs for new facility construction and repairs, upgrades, and recommissioning of existing facilities
    • Design requirements include construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, record drawings, material submittal reviews, construction inspection and development of construction programming documents
    • Types of projects may include primary and secondary electrical distribution, transformers, wiring, interior electrical systems, communications, lighting, industrial controls and control systems, instrumentation and energy conservation

    Skills / Qualifications

    Required:

    • BS or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Professional Engineer registration
    • Experience: 7+ years’ experience in performing construction designs for electrical distribution systems, interior electrical, transformers, communications, lighting, industrial controls and control systems, instrumentation and energy conservation
    • Expertise through past experience in developing construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and construction planning documents
    • Skilled in developing construction designs for construction and repair of primary and secondary electrical distribution, transformers, wiring, interior electrical systems, communications, lighting, industrial controls and control systems, instrumentation and energy conservation
    • This position requires US citizenship
    • Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy

    Preferred:

    • Registration in multiple states and/or NCEES registration
    • LEED certification
    • Experience leading multi-discipline design teams
    • Experience in conducting design reviews
    • Experience in design/build
