  • Overview / Responsibilities


    Wood is currently recruiting for a Staff Accountant baed in Tucker, GA.


    ** US Only- Authorization to work permanently in the US without sponsorship required. 


    General accounting responsibilities focused on:

    • Non-transactional accounting matters where the proper accounting requires a more in-depth understanding of accounting and business issues and judgment
      • Post manual journal entries
      • Various Project accounting duties, maintenance of project files, preparation of client invoices, setting up new project numbers in accounting system, etc.
      • Preparation of monthly intercompany invoices
      • Confirm intercompany AR / AP
      • File annual property tax returns
      • File multi-state unclaimed property returns
    • Sale / Use Tax:
      • Review certain AP invoices for proper sales/use tax coding
      • Assist in development and implementation of project specific sales/use tax plans
      • File and obtain sales / use tax exemption certificates
      • Assist in ad-hoc client requests related to sales/use tax refunds, etc.
    • Banking and cash management:
      • Initiate bank wire transfers, positive pay files, direct deposit files, stop payments
      • Prepare weekly cash-flow forecast files
    • Financial and management reporting:
      • Prepare monthly financial reconciliations
      • Perform various financial statement and general ledger analysis
      • Prepare monthly overhead report


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in accounting, or a Bachelors degree in business with emphasis in accounting
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in accounting
    • Highly skilled in dealing with financial data and Excel spreadsheets.
    • Highly skilled in using accounting systems; experience with Starbuilder would be helpful, but is not a critical qualification
    • Excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done
    • Good communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
