    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. (Wood) is seeking a recent graduate to fill an Entry Level Structural Engineer position in our Design Center in the Phoenix Office.  The primary role of this position is to provide technical and design consulting services for commercial, water infrastructure, industrial, mining, and government clients. This position will work under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Perform analysis and design of structural elements and components both manually and with design software
    • Assist supervising Engineer in field work for data collection, visual inspections, etc.
    • Collaborate with the supervising Engineer and other design team members on structural design tasks
    • Computer-aided drafting and designing using industry-standard platforms to develop Construction Documents
    • Limited travel to job sites to conduct site investigations and inspections - Sites may be located outside Arizona, so applicant must be able to fly on commercial aircraft

    Skills / Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university; A Master’s Degree with an emphasis/concentration in Structural Engineering is strongly preferred
    • Taken and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and registered as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT), or the ability to sit for and pass this examination within one (1) year from date of hire
    • Strong educational achievement commensurate with coursework and academic load
    • Ability to work productively independently and as a member of a project team
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
    • Detail and quality oriented

    Desired but not Required Additional Qualifications:

    • Prior experience is beneficial but not explicitly required
    • Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel MS Project and Outlook)
    • Basic exposure/proficiency with modeling structural systems using RISA, ETABS, STRUDL, STAAD, and/or SAP
    • Basic knowledge regarding the design of reinforced concrete, steel structures and wood structures
    • Basic knowledge of seismic design principles
