  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Accountant based in Sheridan, WY. 

     

    The Project Accountant is responsible for providing analysis and interpretation of project financial performance and contract administration.   In addition to revenue recognition assurance per Group Policy.

     

    • Responsible for preparing adhoc reporting from Oracle for management to summarize and interpret current financial position
    • Responsible for leading the effort in communicating across department lines
    • GAAP oversight in making sure proper protocol is being followed
    • Identify efficiencies for streamlining process flows while reducing non-value added processes
    • Be an Oracle representative to understand what opportunities exist that we are not using or aware of.
    • Minimize the redundancies in internal controls
    • Facilitate importation of items into the Project Accounting module
    • Review, investigate and correct any inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
    • Project maintenance – set up, updates, etc
    • Monthly preparation and analysis of project status reports
    • Prepare and review client draft invoices

    Ensure all procedures are complied with and all actions are auditable, whilst maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards. 

     

    Interpersonal skills:

     

    Language Skills: Intermediate Skill - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or organizations.

     

    Mathematical Skills: Basic Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    Reasoning Ability: Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and other generally accepted accounting principles
    • Oracle ERP experience
    • Proficient knowledge of MS Office software, specifically int/adv level Excel
    • Ability to work at a detailed level but understand the big picture
    • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
    • Ability to work with and communicate to senior management
