  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. The Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the input of daily cash receipts received, processing of refunds, credit card postings and accounts receivable suspense reconciliations.  Will also assist in the daily general ledger operations and participate in the monthly closings as well as assist with various special projects and ad hoc requests.


    Primary Duties:

    • Posts daily cash receipts in a timely and accurate manner
    • Processes cash receipts correcting entries and client/vendor refunds
    • Prepares monthly Accounts Receivable Suspense reconciliations
    • Daily interaction and correspondence with the Project Accounting and Operations Management team members
    • Supports the Accounting Team in the general ledger close cycle (including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and account analysis)
    • Assists in documenting and implementing procedures necessary to maintain and improve internal controls

    Skills / Qualifications

    Role Requirements:

    • Associates Degree, Accounting or Finance
    • Must be organized and possess the ability to multi-task with attention to detail
    • Accountable for completion of assigned tasks within established deadlines 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Builds relationships with follow peers, management, and business partners
    • Strong initiative and follow-up - A successful individual in this role is a self-starter and works independently with minimal guidance
    • Familiar with accounting principles (thorough understanding of G/L account reconciliation and other accounting processes)
    • High level of computer literacy is required with emphasis on Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
    • Past experience in a professional service organization (e.g., engineering and consulting) is preferred but not required
