  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Automation and Controls is currently recruiting for a Process Controls Engineer.  The individual must have experience in Instrumentation and Controls, preferably in Food Packaging and Food Process Controls. Water and Wastewater Controls experience would also be a plus. 

     

    The ideal candidate will have process controls, PLC programming and SCADA experience.  We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference.  This is a great opportunity for career advancement and to work for a valued supplier to major manufacturers.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Review specifications, I&C Control drawings, HMI screens, PLC programs and SCADA
    • Assure customer Factory Test requirements are met per the specifications
    • Communicate company and customer needs with other departments and outside vendors  
    • Effective communication with the customer and meet all deliverable due date
    • PLC programming using ladder logic and/or function block
    • HMI programming
    • Wonderware, iFIX, WinCC by Siemens, FactoryTalk View and/or GE Cimplicity

    Skills / Qualifications

    • BSEE or BS Computer Science or comparable experience
    • 3 – 5 years experience in Instrumentation & Controls
    • Experience with Panelview HMI Screens and FactoryTalk View
    • Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA application programming preferred
    • Proven abilities in design, engineering, start up, testing and implementation phases of project
    • Requires an in-depth knowledge of Industry standard process design methods such ISA and UL 508A with a technical/engineering controls background
    • Understand P&ID Plans and Industry Specifications
    • SCADA Hardware and Software
    • Knowledge of current electrical safety standards such as NEC and OSHA
    • Superior organizational and analytical abilities
    • 25% travel is required
    • U.S. Only: Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required

       

    Physical Requirements:

    • Able to climb a 2 story ladder
    • Can walk a mile in 20 minutes
    • Be able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job site
    • Able to lift up to 30 lbs without difficulty
    • All of the above items to be accomplished while carrying a laptop computer
