    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and supervise the materials testing services business in our Jacksonville office, with responsibility for managing the day to day operations of the field and laboratory testing organization
    • Perform business development efforts to provide diversification, development, and growth of services through new business opportunities and expansion of business with existing clients, and assist in proposal preparation
    • Schedule and coordinate field and laboratory engineering technicians and inspectors
    • Compile, review and approve lab and field reports; must have sound knowledge of laboratory and field testing procedures / standards as well as daily inspection reports
    • Review technician timesheets and daily reports for completeness and accuracy
    • Manage the organization’s vehicle fleet
    • Oversee safety and radiation safety of laboratory and field operations
    • Controlling labor utilization at peak levels and equipment up keep, calibrations, and
    • Be responsible for implementing the project in accordance with project specifications and QA plan
    • Serve as a primary interface with project site representatives
    • Utilize sound judgment and experience to make decisions as required
    • Supervise and manage technicians for hiring / retainage / training / growth potential

    Skills / Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    • Possess or have the initiative and ability to pass certification courses for field and lab in ACI Concrete, CTQP soils, concrete, and asphalt, radiation safety officer, and other materials testing and inspection training
    • Business development experience and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships as well as experience in proposal preparation
    • Must have sound verbal and written English language skills
    • At least 7 years of experience on construction-related material testing / inspection projects
    • Leadership ability and experience directing and managing junior staff
    • Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
    • Positive experience dealing directly with client representatives
    • Strong work ethic, self-motivated and capable of independent work
    • Demonstrated ability to work on project teams
    • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to check and make calculations
    • Valid drivers license is required
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
    • Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience on AMRL Laboratory Accreditations
    • Experience on CCRL and FDOT Laboratory Accreditations
    • Experience on Corp of Engineers Laboratory Accreditations
    • Experience on USDA Laboratory Accreditations
    • Experience working in, or operating, a mobile/field laboratory
    • Experience working on large scale commercial vertical construction as well as transportation projects
    • Degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering
    • Professional Engineer Licensed in the State of Florida

    Physical Demands:

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds
    • Able to work outside for portions of the day during all seasons
