  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Civil/Water Resources Engineering Professional to join a dynamic civil and water resources team at their Blue Bell, PA (minutes from Philadelphia) office. The selected candidate will become part of an established practice that provides a wide-range of civil and water resources services to a large portfolio of clients across the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. As a member of this team, the employee will have an opportunity provide senior leadership in the following areas:

    • Green Infrastructure Master-planning and Design in Urban Environments
    • Site-Civil and Land Development
    • Stormwater Management and Design
    • Construction Management/Oversight
    • Stormwater policy and associated regulatory permitting (including MS4, stormwater user fees, etc.)


    Key Responsibilities


    • Serve as Senior Civil/Water Resources engineer and project manager in ongoing design projects; Serve as a technical expert to oversee engineering design projects ensuring project deliverables are met on schedule and under budget
    • Lead and participate in business development for the internal and external clientele to expand a successful multi-discipline operation; Track opportunities, identify client needs, develop proposals and marketing materials
    • Communicate effectively with clients, staff and company leadership
    • Provide senior technical review and direction on engineering design projects in line with Wood Quality Procedures
    • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings and presentations
    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate staffing needs; Mentor existing staff and engineers
    • Participate in local, regional, and national civil engineering related organizations
    • Assure the department’s compliance with Wood Health and Safety policies and procedures and Wood’s Code of Business Conduct

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering or relevant disciplines; Master’s degree preferred
    • 10 years of experience in Civil/Water Resources Engineering focusing on site-civil design, construction management and land development
    • PA PE required, NJ/MD/NY PE registrations preferred
    • Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, watershed analysis, urban stormwater management and design
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation
    • Working knowledge of HEC-HMS & HEC-RAS, SWMM, PondPack and ArcGIS is a plus
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated business development and effective project management skills
