  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is looking for a Telecommunication Engineer to provide Telecommunication Discipline expertise for the engineering configuration and design.

     

    • Knowledge of the Telecommunication Discipline with respect to Feasibility / concept studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detail engineering within Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects in a multi-disciplined project team environment
    • Working in a multi-disciplined project environment to produce deliverables on schedule, of the correct quality and technical content
    • Keep up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and best practices within the Telecommunication specialization
    • The Telecommunication Engineer shall have the ability to design and configure in detail the majority of the following systems:
      • Data Communications and Networking
      • Digital Trunked Mobile Radio Systems
      • External (Outside) Plant Cable Network Design
      • CCTV System Design
      • Public Address and General Alarm System
      • Structured Cable System Design
      • Voice Communication Design
      • Security Access Control
      • Security Intrusion Detection Systems

    Skills / Qualifications

    • An engineering degree qualification is essential
    • Shall have 2 years of experience in relevant telecommunication and IT work
    • Full knowledge of the following Telecommunication systems: LAN network, PABX, Ethernet wireless, SDH / PDH systems
    • General knowledge with CCTV, Radio System, PAGA,  and Weather Monitoring Systems, to be able to develop FEED and details engineering specifications
    • Desirable track record of working on FEED and EPC projects for Energy projects
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish
    • A CCNA or CCNP certification will be desireble
    • Knowledge of international codes and specs for safety critical systems would be a plus
