  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking an On-call Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Project Manager to perform a broad range of EHS compliance monitoring and project management. Experience with industrial and/or chemical manufacturing and distribution facilities sites required. Must have solid communication, writing and scheduling skills. Must be able to budget time and resources. Successful applicant will interact with clients and other professional staff. Duties will include supporting client EHS compliance, composition of EHS documents and SOPs, and documenting and deriving action items based on client and facility needs.

              

    Key Responsibilities 

     

    • Providing on-site resources to support client H&S personnel on a day to day basis
    • Supporting the implementation of a more health and safety oriented culture within the client’s corporate initiatives and procedures
    • Document and support chemical inventory, storage and disposal efforts
    • Documentation and support client staff training programs
    • Project Management/Task Management as needed
    • Support document and SOP update projects as needed
    • Provide project operational support as needed
    • Develop AHA/JHA and HASP for site projects and modify as necessary
    • Implement Client mandated Safety Programs
    • Identify issues and successfully resolve using effective communication and positive reinforcement/persuasion
    • Preparation or Review of safety data/reports for on-site materials
    • Coordinate with site safety staff to support local and corporate reporting and data collection
    • Provide Safety perspective to project staff relative to office activities including project planning, permitting, subcontractor coordination, data compilation and presentation, and report preparation
    • Safety evaluation/planning of assessment/monitoring and remediation/closure needs
    • Perform Safety audits of site operations
    • Maintain all safety related records including safety training and plan modifications, etc.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Appropriate formal training, certifications, experience and documented performance executing and monitoring safe operations such as Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Safety and Health or Industrial Hygiene preferred or a commensurate number of years’ experience
    • 15 years of previous environmental/chemical/manufacturing industry experience
    • Strong writing and technical skills
    • Detail oriented with the ability to balance a diverse and changing workload
    • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
    • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER trained preferred
    • Safety related accreditations a plus but not required if the candidate has the appropriate level of experience
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
