  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environmental & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a well drilling site geologist to support our project on call/as needed for Q1 2019.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Will report to the Wood site drilling manager and handle the a variety of responsibilities including providing oversight services for drilling activities including, mud rotary logging, well construction and development, well testing  and monitoring field conditions
    • Geologic logging, sample collection, and VWP installation
    • Drilling method include: conventional mud rotary and reverse circulation
    • Monitor the performance of the drilling subcontractor to ensure duties are performed in accordance with required specifications and standards detailed in Field Work Plan
    • Preparation of boring logs, data tables, figures, and graphs
    • Provide a supportive role in site safety

    Skills / Qualifications

    Basic/Required Qualifications:

    • B.S. in Geology, Hydrogeology or Engineering and at least four (4) years of field oversight of environmental investigations
    • At least 3 years of experience of overseeing similar drilling operations
    • MSHA certification
    • Good written and verbal communication skills required
    • Attention to detail and strong time management capabilities
    • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experienced installing VWPs
    • Experience sampling groundwater through a packer system
    • Ability to classify soil cuttings and manage contractors in the field

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to work 12hr shifts, including 1 hour each way drive to man camp
