  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Controls Specialist with 5 or more years in the Oil & Gas industry. The Project Controls Specialist will support the Lead Cost Engineer and is accountable for cost analyst activities (e.g. labor tracking and forecasting, maintaining Org Charts, trending and reporting) carried out in accordance with cost engineering procedure, project performance management plan, and related guidance documents.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitors assigned project cost estimates, expenditures, forecasts, cash flow and project earned value following Project Cost Control and Accounting procedures
    • Implements cost and accounting procedures and ensures that all expenditures, estimates and change orders are properly coded and dispersed into proper work breakdown structure (WBS)
    • Tracks project cost against budget including committed and expensed costs, and its allocation to work breakdown structure (WBS); Recommends variance recovery plans as needed; Examines and reviews unusual cost records and elevates issues in a timely manner
    • Generates, reviews and submits system reports to provide Project Managers with the information necessary to effectively understand and manage the project
    • Monitors, analyzes and reports on various other costs
    • Provides productivity analysis

    Skills / Qualifications

    • 5 years’ experience as a Cost Controller / Specialist
    • Relevant degree in Business or Engineering
    • Exposure to brownfields projects will be considered advantageous
    • Proficiency with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel and cost control programmes
    • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, must be able to meet and respond to requests from senior project staff in a timely manner
    • Self-motivated, with a high level of individual initiative and self-reliance
