  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood seeks a CSA Construction Manager to oversees all aspects of field construction of Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) contracts for the Wacker HDK Project (HDK® Pyrogenic Silica - Wacker Chemie AG: Wood is constructing their Silica/Plastics & Rubber plant in TN.) This role will also coordinate activities with the Piping & Mechanical and Electrical &Instrumentation CM’s to ensure the project is constructed as efficient as possible. Work with CSA Field Engineer to resolve Request for Information (RFI’s) and Submittals from contractors. Liaison with client engineering group for review, coordination, and inspection of work performed in the field.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

                 

    • Responsible for construction and CSA contractor related deliverables.
    • Coordinates and inspects CSA contractor work in the field to ensure it adheres to the plans and specification requirements per the contract.
    • Maintain centralized Commercial files and records for the Wacker HDK Project.
    • Follow Owners procedures to ensure Contractor adherence to the contracts.
    • Receive and review CSA contractor monthly pay applications for contractual compliance with schedule of values and technical requirements. Process the pay application through the Owner’s Engineering and Procurement Staff for Approval.
    • Work with the CSA Field Engineer to manage contractor Request for Information (RFI’s) and Submittals. Manage the RFI’s through the Change Order Process (if required).
    • Ensure all contractual documents are managed through the centralized Quick Base Database.
    • For contract closeout work with the owner and contractor to ensure all required documentation is received.
    • Wacker Items Required Checklist is Complete.
    • Receipt of all Required Quality Documentation.
    • Receipt of Final Release of Lien.
    • Receipt of As Built Information.
    • Completion of Punch List Items from EC or MC Walkdowns.

    • Coordinate efforts with the Wood Project Team Members regarding the Final Documentation (Plant Manual) for each CSA sub-project for the HDK Project. Ensure that all documentation is received in the format required for each contractor and is filed in the appropriate folder with the Plant Manual.
    • Assist Construction Manager and Project Director with contract, claims, receivables and negotiations. Assist Wacker PM and Procurement Group with the same.

    Skills / Qualifications

    PREFERRED PROFILE:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Architectural Degree or equivalent is required together with a minimum of 10 years of private sector business management, administration and operations experience.
    • Wacker experience is preferable.
    • Flexibility and willingness to undertake multifunction activities within the Wood HDK Project Team.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to ‘multi-task’ and manage the commercial approvals process within the constraints of multiple deadlines.
    • Willingness to undertake specific training related to contracts and risk management.
