  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk. This position plays an important role to the overall success of the Accounting Department. As part of the accounting department, this person will oversee the accounts payable process for all job related invoices and will work with the controller and the rest of the department in its overall success.


    Key Responsibilities (others may be assigned)


    • Daily entry and review of all job related payables, including:
      • Materials
      • Subcontractors
      • Professional Fees
      • Others
    • Match invoices to Purchase Orders and subcontracts, where necessary, and Work with Project
    • Administration staff on any invoice variances
    • Ensures vendors meet and maintain compliance requirements
    • Makes selections for weekly check process for all job related accounts as noted above
    • Prepares all needed waivers to vendors, working with Project Administration staff to ensure proper forms are used
    • Reviews and reconciles incoming vendor statements
    • Keeps vendor files up to date including mailing addresses, contact names and numbers, and all pertinent tax information
    • Maintain filing system for all vendor invoices
    • Various month end close duties
    • Maintain relationships with Vendors through answering calls in regards to payments and outstanding invoices
    • Back up for Accounts Payable Administrator
    • Other various clerical duties

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent required: Associate’s degree or BA/BS in accounting is preferred
    • A Minimum of three {3} years of experience in accounts payable or related field with job costing experience
    • Basic mathematical skills are required; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
    • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word and Outlook
    • Advanced skills using Excel and accounting software; preferably Viewpoint Construction software
    • Must have valid driver's license and the ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings including a drug test, MVR check, basic physical, criminal background check, and credit check

    Physical Demands


    • Regularly required to talk or hear, and to use hands to feel or handle keyboards and documents
    • Frequently required to sit
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
