  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Wetlands Delineation Specialist to join our team in Riverside, CA. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, agency staff, and co-workers.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Production and management of: wetland delineation reports, permit applications, and regulatory compliance documents (e.g., 404, 401, and 1602 permits)
    • Manage small-medium size projects and support the biological group manager, leading tasks on large wetland and aquatic resources projects
    • Lead wetland delineations, wetland functional assessments, vegetation surveys, critical areas studies, impact assessments, mitigation planning, permitting and regulatory compliance, agency coordination, and data analysis and interpretation
    • Task and project management responsibilities include meeting scope and budget requirements, schedule, and team coordination

    Skills / Qualifications


    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences or related discipline
    • 4-6+ years of demonstrated experience in the Arid Southwest conducting wetland delineations and function assessments, preparing natural resource permit applications, and technical report preparation
    • Consulting experience or direct interaction with consulting teams is required; as is familiarity with the flora, soils and aquatic ecosystems
    • Strong technical writing, interpersonal and oral communication, and computer software skills
    • Strong ability to organize, implement, and track schedules for projects


    • Working knowledge of Clean Water Act, CEQA, and Federal and State ESA is desired
    • GPS/ARC GIS experience is a strong plus

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work in varied locations throughout the Western US may be required; ability to travel to work sites and manage/conduct field work; and the ability to work independently is required
    • Field work may require heavy manual labor including navigation through heavy brush; digging soil pits; travel on uneven terrain in muddy and flooded conditions; and field work in all weather
