  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Project Coordinator/Project Controller for our San Diego office to support operations for mid-to-large size programs. This includes developing and managing project control systems and tools to provide effective management of project tasks. Provide support as well as recommendations to PM’s and Business Unit Management.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Project/Contract Tracking and Control:
      • Ensure the accuracy of financial information produced for multiple projects including large multi-tasked or complex projects
      • Review and track client invoices; work with PM and billing to correct & finalize invoices and monthly status reports
      • Prepare estimates and schedules to support proposal
      • Develop and implement reports of project expenditures
      • Develop and evaluate estimating, scheduling, and staffing strategies during the proposal process and project implementation
      • Forecast anticipated project completion costs using reports and analyses of financial commitments and project progress evaluations
      • Develop, evaluate and implement project control systems, tools and reports
    • Accounting:
      • Monitor client payments; assist in collection activity
      • Review project expenses, client invoices, and related accounting transactions
      • Act as Liaison between Project team, Project Accountants and Area Finance
      • Support JV Operations with billing, backup, and problem resolution

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in business-related discipline; Accounting emphasis preferred
    • 5+ years of related experience with an engineering, consulting, or professional services company
    • Knowledgeable in contract terms and guidelines, and understand budget requirements
    • In depth understanding of client contractual requirements and ability to translate to project execution plans, to assist project and program management team
    • Ability to work with various disciplines and departments
    • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering and environmental services, accounting, business administration, and project management practices
    • Ability to adapt and shift priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Significant experience with project planning, scheduling, and estimating
    • Experience handling administrative requirements of large multitask projects
    • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
