  • Overview / Responsibilities



    The Accounting Clerk plays an important role to the overall success of the Accounting Department.  As part of the accounting department, this person will support the accounts payable and payroll processes while working with the Assistant Controller and the rest of the department contributing to its overall success.


    Essential Responsibilities (others may be assigned):


    • Daily entry and review of invoices.
    • Match invoices to Purchase Orders and subcontracts, where necessary, and Work with Project Administration staff on any invoice variances.
    • Ensures vendors meet and maintain compliance requirements.
    • Reviews and reconciles incoming vendor statements.
    • Keeps vendor files up to date including mailing addresses, contact names and numbers, and all pertinent tax information.
    • Maintain filing system for all vendor invoices.
    • Maintain relationships with Vendors through answering calls in regards to payments and outstanding invoices.
    • Support weekly payroll processes working directly with Payroll Administrator.
    • Perform time entry for employee payroll.
    • Manage employee relationships regarding payroll matters such as company policy and time discrepancies.
    • Execute various weekly benefit uploads and filings pertaining to employee withholdings.
    • Serve as back up for Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrators.
    • Other various clerical duties.

    Skills / Qualifications




    Education and/or Experience – High School diploma or equivalent, associate’s degree or BA/BS in accounting is preferred.  A Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounts payable and/or payroll fields.   


    Mathematical Skills – Basic mathematical skills are required.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. 


    Computer Skills - Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word and Outlook.  Intermediate skills using Excel and accounting software.  Viewpoint Construction Software is a plus but not required.
