  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Site Superintendent with extensive experience in the oil and gas /  petrochemical industry. Ideal candidate will lead project execution on the North Slope and ensure delivery of construction services are in compliance with Wood's HSSE and technical standards.

     

    *This is a rotational position to Deadhorse, Alaska.

    Technical

    • Responsible for optimizing resources and looking after the profitability of the company and its clients
    • Maintains an Electronic Daily Log to capture all critical events, occurrences, and happenings
    • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of work carried out as well as ensuring the accuracy of execution reports
    • Tracks progress of projects, reporting progress, concerns and recommended corrective actions promptly
    • Acts as the Focal Point for all construction related activities on the North Slope
    • Providing input to the construction plan including progress updates and completion forecasts
    • Identification of appropriate resources required to perform work and able to forecast resources for future projects
    • Ensure contractor(s) performance is in accordance with work schedule, specifications, and all other requirements
    • Lead, guide, and support all team members in the execution of the projects in an organized, effective and efficient manner
    • Lead the execution of assigned projects, assuring that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with accordingly
    • Demonstrate a high level of safety awareness to ensure all Wood employees and contractors are aware of standards expected
    • Proactively assist whoever necessary to improve and maintain the HSSE performance
    • Ensure all records and required documentation from the project (both electronic and hard copies) are maintained and completed to auditable standards, including the assurance of contractors documentation when required
    • Liaise with operations and project team to analyze and solve execution problems
    • Responsible for the motivation of staff to identify improvement opportunities that add value to both the company and the client
    • Carry out emergency response duties as required
    • Ensure client Control of Work (COW) procedures and Site Technical Practices (STPs) are adhered to while executing projects

    Quality

    • Ensure QA/QC engagement in Engineering / Procurement / Construction

    Financial

    • Awareness and understanding of the business drivers within the Wood / BP client relationship and how these can be influenced

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Trade qualifications or relevant industry experience
    • Ten (10) years’ experience Oil/Gas/Petrochemical industry
    • Five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Fifteen (15) years’ experience Oil/Gas/Petrochemical industry
    • Ten (10) years’ experience in a supervisory role
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field

    Job-Specific Skills:

    • Experience of construction codes and practices
    • Knowledge of Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations/OSHA
    • Knowledge of ISSOW /ECOW
    • Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work unsupervised as part of a team
    • Able to supervise and direct others
    • Able to work to tight deadlines
    • Liaise with external customers at a high level
    • Good interpersonal skills, team player
    • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications
    • Display confidence in own abilities and is motivated to deliver
    • Ability to investigate and interpret data
    • Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances
    • Ability to motivate and supervise other discipline personnel
