  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Project Controls Professional with strong financial experience to join our team in Austin, Texas. Works closely with Project Managers/teams on proposal preparation, financial support, and project structure. Project Controls support on all level of projects, providing tools and guidance. Prepares monthly reports with various comparison analysis, including but not limited to budgets, forecasts, and actual results. Acts as primary support and contact to function leads as relates to financials – budgets and actuals. Responsible for assisting budgeters and forecasters, including system support and/or troubleshooting. Perform analysis and validation within multiple systems to ensure accuracy of financial reporting within E&IS.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Develops project control systems and reports to oversee the accuracy of financial information produced for multiple large or complex projects, maximizing job profitability and minimizing financial risk
    • Works with Project Teams to implement the process for forecasting anticipated project completion costs using reports and analysis of financial commitments and project progress evaluations for mid-sized and small projects/portfolios
    • Will conduct project reviews and follow up, providing assistance to Project Team on corrective action
    • Support Project Managers and teams with financial analysis for proposals
    • Utilize multiple core systems to validate and reconcile data for reporting on projects
    • Prepare monthly results’ reports including but not limited to profit & loss statements, labor utilization, backlog, variations in support of the Texas Management team
    • Prepare and analyze comparisons between different levels of data
    • Support operations through company budgeting/forecasting process
    • Prepare various reports for ad hoc data requests, monthly results, and/or budgets

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required - Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
    • 6 to 7 years Project Controls experience preferred
    • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills required
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills - intermediate to advanced, proficiency in other Office products
    • Strong communication skills, able to work with levels of operations staff and management
    • Work well independently, demonstrating initiative and follow-up
    • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
    • Ability to travel as needed
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
