  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Civil/Structural Construction Quality Assurance Technician with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

     

    Responsibilities to include, at a minimum:

    • Monitoring of field work.
    • Performs visual inspections.
    • Prepares inspection reports.
    • Proactively reviews Inspection and Test Plans and any other quality documents for applicability, when required.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 5+ years Quality Control experience required.
    • Certification in Civil/Structural inspection discipline required. Industry certification or certified training in Civil discipline preferred.
    • Working knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering, design and construction, engineering survey principles, trends, techniques, mathematics, and compliance processes and procedures related to federal, state and local codes and regulations governing construction.
    • Persistent and inquisitive in the pursuit of information; obtains all relevant facts.
    • Applies basic knowledge of Company/Project operations, policies and procedures.
    • Basic understanding of trends affecting the assignment.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary and grammar. Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one situations. Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
    • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.
    • Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
    • Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures.
