  • Overview / Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager OMS Americas is responsible and accountable for the operation of the OMS business for Wood Group, based in Houston, US. This principally covers all activities associated with company operations and financial management, corporate strategy, business development, HR and recruitment, technology development and project management. Ensuring the management of all working divisions/departments of the company with full responsibility for quality, delivery and profitability. He/she will build and expand the company’s business activities, principally in the US, but also in other agreed areas within the Americas region. They will contribute to the strategic management of the company, as a key member of the Senior Management of OMS

    This is a senior position in the organisation and will play a key role in the rejuvenation of the OMS business in the Americas region.Areas of focus will be reassuring and nurturing the existing team, increasing visibility in the internal and external market and increasing revenues.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide effective and inspirational leadership to the regional business, ensuring that it maintains the appropriate structure with effective, motivated and high quality staff.
    • Manage and control all projects / contracts awarded to the company and ensure these are monitored and delivered effectively
    • Identify and manage opportunity and risk in relation to the business plan.
    • Manage organisational change required to support agreed business vision and goals.
    • Establish effective relationships with key customers, suppliers and industry bodies
    • Work closely with the Director of OMS, reviewing business development cases to ensure that not only the short-term P&L goals are being achieved, but also that the long-term strategy for industrial services is being supported.
    • Take responsibility for all aspects of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow on a day-to-day basis
    • Lead and resolve major contract negotiations / disputes.
    • Provide a safe and healthy working environment, promoting safe working practices and achieving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
    • Ensure all divisions / departments operate within the agreed company business management, HR and HSE policies and standards


    Skills / Qualifications

    • Possess a recognised Tertiary Technical/Engineering qualification
    • Operations/business development director experience gained in a contracting environment with a demonstrable track-record of strong performance management.
    • Strong operational experience built, preferably in the oil & gas sector
    • Knowledge of: Oil and Gas market in Americas region, as well as of delivery of technical documentation similar to OMS.
    • Experience of: Working for an SME or Consultative type organisation and managing multiple technical delivery teams, focused on revenue and profit growth.
    • Highly intelligent with creative flair and strong strategic and analytical capability.
    • Results orientated and focussed in the execution of predefined objectives.
    • Experienced in the management of skilled workers
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable strength in communication skills.
    • Capable of keeping a firm grip on the organisation whilst demonstrating high levels of integrity and a constructive attitude.
