  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. has an opening for an Environmental Data Analyst in our Rancho Cordova, California office. We are looking for a candidate with experience in database management, environmental data entry, and the ability to work with standard data environments (e.g., scripting, querying, spreadsheet). The Data Analyst role requires the willingness and drive to delve into raw data sources and ensure data is being captured correctly into the database. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, familiarity with environmental database administration protocols, very good organization and problem-solving skills, and an aptitude to learn data new software applications. Primary responsibilities include environmental data management, data entry, quality control, data verification, and report generation. Additional responsibilities will include assistance with database development, configuration, documentation, migration, security, and administration support. 

    Skills / Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in natural sciences related discipline
    • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an environmental consulting, testing, or engineering trade
    • Direct experience with relational databases and data warehousing
    • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft applications
    • Good communication skills
    • Can-do attitude with a service-oriented approach and investigative mindset
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively multi-task
    • Collaborates well in a team environment
    • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy

    Desirable Skills

    • Proficient in specialty applications such as EQuIS, SharePoint, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft SQL Server
    • Knowledge of environmental protocols such as USEPA, ASTM, USGS, and others
    • Experience with interfacing with geospatial tools such as ArcGIS

    Physical Demands

    • Physical demands include office work with computer and maintaining project file records which may require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds
