  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a BAS Control Technician to join our project team in Chapel Hill, NC.

     

    Pay rate: $29.56/hour

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Routinely assesses, reads, and adjusts Andover controls and programing on the BAS system
    • Operates and manipulates facility systems without detriment to facility or safety from the BAS system
    • Routinely conducts troubleshooting of in field BAS related components
    • Accesses BAS front end graphic pages and AMT menu to actively monitor and controls temperature, humidity, air pressurization, differential pressure, VFD percentage, flow rate, damper and valve positions, occupancy points, and water level alarms, etc., to include but not be limited to only these activities
    • Edits BAS graphic pages to accurately reflect facility updates, system changes, and alterations
    • Adjust critical equipment set points and create and assign alarm messages to the set points
    • Adds critical equipment monitoring/set points to the BAS as directed
    • Troubleshoots, installs, replaces and repairs BAS sub-LAN controller hardware and equipment
    • Provides requested information from BAS via screenshots, copying data, saving files etc.
    • Performs annual inspections, calibrations, and repair procedures as necessary for BAS field devices
    • Inspects BAS related UPS devices for proper operation, reports deficiencies to appropriate personnel for repair
    • Independently calibrate controls on components of the automation system and perform test and balance procedures on the ventilation system
    • Installs new BAS components and develops programs for their proper operation on Andover continuum BAS systems
    • Independently troubleshoots, repairs, and/or replaces BAS field components to return BAS system to normal operation
    • Independently operates facility systems via BAS without detriment to facility operation or safety
    • Independently troubleshoots, installs, replaces, and/or repairs BAS LAN and sub-LAN components
    • Create, update and maintain current database backups of the site to ensure a quick and efficient recovery in the event of a system crash
    • Excludes any service requiring proprietary knowledge or equipment which is typically performed by the manufacturer's representative

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Availability to work; 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
    • 3 years’ experience in facility maintenance
    • Experience with Andover Controls
    • Plain English line code programming
    • Competency in the functionality of Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls, including software engineering and commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices
    • Infinet and/or BACnet protocol fundamentals
    • Understanding of the operation of HVAC controls and HVAC equipment - This includes the ability to understand written sequences of operation
