  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to assist the USPS Program on Eastern U.S. Postal Service construction projects.

     

    Location

    Open to any Wood office location in the Eastern US

     

    Role Overview

    The senior construction manager will be responsible for assisting the program project manager with planning, design, co-ordination and control of construction projects from inception to completion. He/She will be responsible for ensuring that the client’s requirements regarding functionality and established standards are met. He/She will also be responsible for dealing with any delays that may happen during construction, such as emergencies and/or unforeseen conditions that may occur; and ensuring that that the construction project is concluded successfully and on-time.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Working closely with Project Managers
    • Managing multiple construction projects at one time
    • Coordinating and working with multi-disciplined staff throughout the U.S.
    • Coordinating with Postal Service customer from Contracting Officers to Project Managers
    • Planning and coordination procurement of construction projects
    • Bid analysis for the selection of contractors
    • Construction management oversight including construction administration including verification of progress payments
    • Construction schedule development and attainment
    • Determining and enforcing labor requirements
    • Overseeing the performance of designers and contractors
    • Monitoring and directing the work progress of on-site construction
    • Overseeing the delivery of materials, construction tools, and equipment
    • Ensuring that construction resources are used well
    • Ensuring that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers
    • Monitoring the compliance with Postal Service requirements and specifications

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum of 20 years related experience required
    • Travel will be required
