  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions has an opportunity for a Survey CAD Technician. This position reports to the Survey Manager and is responsible for production of survey documents and preparation of information in support of field crews. This position based from our Kennesaw location.

     

    Successful candidate will have a base understanding of typical survey products, survey data reduction, and various CAD platforms. The ability to adapt to our standards and procedures is essential. This position requires a responsible individual who can work with minimal oversight, maintain timelines / budgets, and can interact with project managers / clients as directed by the Survey Manager. This position offers the potential for growth along with a diversity of project types.

    Candidate will be required to submit to a drug test and background check, provide character / professional references and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Executing work as directed
    • Preparing and presenting information in a clear and concise manner
    • Meeting company, client, and jurisdictional standards
    • Staying up to date with CAD platform
    • Being aware of jurisdiction standards affecting survey documents
    • Direct and mentor junior staff
    • Participate in safety discussions and briefings

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Ability to take direction
    • Adaptable to our standards and procedures
    • Working knowledge of Civil 3D is required
    • Working knowledge of Microstation Inroads and Trimble Business Center in relation to DOT deliverables is highly desired
    • Acceptable prior experience as a Survey CAD Technician
    • Working knowledge of standardized field coding utilizing auto-line work
    • Effective verbal communication and organization skills
    • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
    • Working knowledge of various types of key surveying activities (boundary, topographic, DOT, as-built construction staking)
    • Adaptable to emerging technologies such as laser scanning and drones
