  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer to implement and manage the project safety program. This position will involve assignment to Guam.

     

    Key Responsibilities

     

    • Manage Safety Program
    • Conduct daily safety and health inspections
    • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports
    • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports
    • Maintain applicable safety reference material
    • Implement and enforce accepted APPS and AHAs
    • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system
    • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements
    • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material safety data sheets
    • Ability to interface and interact with Management and Client Representatives at all levels
    • Arrange meetings and record minutes when required

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Certified Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)
    • A minimum of 10 years safety work of a progressive nature with at least 5 years of experience on similar projects
    • 30-hour OSHA construction safety class or equivalent within the last 5 years
    • An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years with training for competent person status for at least the following 4 areas of competency: Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Hazardous energy; and Confined space
    • Advanced computer and word processing skills using MS Office applications including SharePoint
    • Knowledgeable in US Government contract terms and guidelines
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to demonstrate flexibility when dealing with changing priorities
    • Exhibit an extremely high level of professionalism and superior attention to details
    • Able to demonstrate initiative, judgement and ownership
    • Aptitude to exercise foresight as well as good business judgment to anticipate and solve problems with minimal oversight
    • Ability to work in a team or independently in a multi-disciplinary team environment
    • Maintain confidentiality at all times
    • Must pass background check for US military base access
