  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood has an opportunity for an Environmental Technician to collect environmental soil and groundwater samples and perform operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.



    West Texas area (Midland, El Paso)


    Key Responsibilities

    • Will travel to project sites primarily in West Texas area
    • Other opportunities outside of West Texas may require occasional overnight travel
    • Will perform groundwater monitoring, soil sampling
    • Responsible for accurate and appropriate data gathering in support of performed field activities, with subsequent generation of clearly-written and understandable daily field reports

    Skills / Qualifications


    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Degree in geology, engineering a plus
    • 2 to 4 years + environmental field experience is required
    • Must be a self-starter with adequate written and verbal communication skills
    • Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required
    • Willingness to travel to project sites in the throughout West Texas area; Includes occasional out of town travel
    • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy


    • OSHA 40 hour certification
    • Best suited candidate may have an understanding of things mechanical and may have operated treatment systems 

    Past experience is a must

    Beneficial if experience performing soil drilling and boring, install groundwater monitoring wells, collect volumetric soil samples, collect groundwater samples and collect surface water and sediment samples.


    Physical Demands

    • Field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions
    • Field activities may require working in specialized protective equipment supplied by employer; Candidate must be physically capable of performing tasks in such equipment
    • Ability to lift 40 pounds
