  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Lab Technician to work within our Geotechnical department performing a wide range of laboratory soil, aggregate and concrete testing for projects in nuclear, energy, transportation, industrial/commercial, and government sectors. Role would be based in our Atlanta, Georgia office.


    Key Responsibilities


    The successful candidate should be flexible in assignments, and eager to learn. Technical services work areas include:


    • Performing laboratory soil and aggregate testing including but not limited to soil index testing; such as Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis, Standard and Modified Compaction and others in accordance with ASTM and GDOT standards
    • Performing laboratory concrete and grout testing such compressive strength, in accordance with ASTM standards
    • Assisting in calibration of soil and concrete equipment

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Associate degree in engineering or soil science preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in geotechnical laboratory testing
    • Relevant ACI and NICET certifications
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Must have strong oral/written communication skills and ability to work well in teams
    • Must be proficient in MS Office Suit (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
