  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking a Field Technician with experience in soils, concrete and masonry testing to join our team in Naples, FL.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Perform soil density testing using both nuclear gauge and sand cone in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
    • Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
    • Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities / observations and density calculations and results

    Skills / Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in construction inspection and testing or degree in engineering
    • Concrete level I and Soils Level I certifications preferred
    • Must be able to evaluate soil subgrade prior to placement of fill and perform standard soil Proctor and moisture checks
    • Must be able to read and understand site grading drawings
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to travel as needed
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Must pass drug test, fit for duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

    Physical Demands


    Applicants must have the ability to:

    • Work in varying environments (office, lab and field settings)
    • Perform physically demanding field work
    • Regularly lift up to 50lbs
