  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team in Blue Bell, PA.


    Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • Support delivery of commercial function best practices and systems within the Environment & Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit (E&IS) in alignment with Wood’s strategic and operational objectives
    • Lead negotiation of contractual terms and conditions to minimize risk and liability to Wood and to comply with corporate risk management and contracting policies; ensure negotiations are conducted in a commercially viable context and in accordance with corporate guidelines
    • Ensure effective handover of commercial matters from pre-contract to post-contract phase of projects so that contract objectives, scope, specifications and terms and conditions are understood by all relevant people; provide input to the business/project set up process to ensure effective coordination/administration of contract requirements
    • Provide commercial support to project managers and Operational leadership to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to minimize risk to the business
    • Manage contractual disputes with customers and suppliers
    • Support VP Commercial, US Federal Contracts and E&IS Chief Counsel with any litigation against and/or on behalf of E&IS on contractual matters
    • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures in the commercial functional area
    • Conduct training in important areas within the commercial function
    • Support development, negotiation and administration of teaming agreements, non-disclosure agreements, joint venture agreements, and insurance and surety bond requirements

    Quality Responsibilities

    • Read, understand and comply with the quality policy, procedures and work instructions relevant to role and inform line manager if unable to do so
    • Productively participate and cooperate with internal/external audit process as required
    • Actively participate, cooperate and provide input in the continuous improvement initiatives and associated processes

    Performance Measurement of Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    • Demonstrated contribution to enhancement of value-adding outputs and positive teamwork
    • Effective implementation of processes to manage the organization’s risk with continuous improvement to reduce its risk profile over time
    • Diminishing litigation actions against E&IS and appropriate and effective response to any litigation
    • Commercially viable, managed-risk contracts negotiated with clients
    • Client satisfaction (internal and external) with the perception that the Commercial team provides necessary support

    • Internal - BU Leadership Team, Strategy & Development, Project Managers, Finance & Accounting
    • External - Clients, Outside Counsel

    Skills / Qualifications


    • Legal or Commercial degree with working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and its Supplements
    • Experience in general compliance with federal, state and local laws related to US Federal contract management and acquisition in the US and abroad


    • MBA or other Commercial degree, additional trainings and certifications in acquisition and contract administration relating to US Federal acquisition
