  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • CoEngineering procurement and construction activity input - including weekly productivity reporting, forecasting, progressing, scheduling (P6) and change orders.
    • Budgeting and coding of initial project cost database.
    • Assist construction managers in document controls, RFI, material management and turnover report
    • Database development across departments to improve time and cost efficiency
    • Weekly and monthly monitoring of contractors work force
    • Earned value analysis, budgeting and variance analysis and reporting
    • Productivity reporting, progress pay application verification
    • Quantity verification sheets, Change and Claim analysis
    • Engineering procurement and construction activity input (P6)
    • Resource loading, critical path analysis, change order schedule analysis
    • Understanding of submittals and expediting process
    • Understanding of tracking owner supplied materials and requisitions for owner supplied equipment
    • Reporting for Cost and Schedule, ability to prepare monthly project reports
    • Understanding of document control processes for construction documents, vendor documents and CM administrative activity documentation (meeting minutes, safety, claims, changes)
    • Other related duties and responsibilities as directed by upper management


    Decision-Making and Supervisory Responsibilities Include:


    • Planning, organizing, and scheduling of work
    • Evaluating and recommending changes in methods and systems
    • Assisting in training junior staff by providing guidance on work methods and procedures
    • Reviewing work in accordance with corporate goals, professional judgement, and management acceptance
    • Delegate responsibility and assure its proper completion
    • Reviewing the work of subordinates for overall completion of objectives
    • Assisting in training junior staff by providing guidance on work methods and procedures
    • Exercising superior judgement in administering the estimating function

    Skills / Qualifications

    Special Requirement Skills


    • MUST HAVE previous experience working in industrial power generation & industrial construction projects
    • Knowledge of related construction codes, standards, etc.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral


    Qualifications, Education and Experience


    • 4 year Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent technical training and related experience
    • Minimum of 6 to 10 years similar industrial construction estimating experience
    • Knowledge of construction project practices and procedures
    • Experience with large EPC projects
    • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
    • An in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines
