  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is seeking a PD&E Service Line Head, Americas. This individual will serve as primary expert, and he/she will play a key role in helping to grow the Project Development & Environment market.

    • Responsible for the technical content, knowledge management and delivery of work product in the PD&E Service Line in the Americas.
    • Ensures the projects are delivered to the required standard, and that standardization is maintained from a global service line perspective.
    • Leads business development activities for the PD&E Service Line in the Americas.
    • Works with Operations and BD team to develop and execute conference and road-show strategy.
    • Work with Operations to constantly improve scope and depth of deliverables of services in Service Line to ensure continued product and cost competitiveness.
    • Serves as primary expert on PD&E Service Line for Americas and retains final say on technical matters within category.
    • Ensures coordination with other global service line heads for quality and control.
    • Continuously stays abreast of Global PD&E Service Line through Global PD&E Director (Stewart Alexander).
    • Provide competent technical advice on renewable energy projects and appropriate engineering guidance to team members within Service Line.
    • Outline various sub-category expertise requirements and work with Operations to identify and train staff to ensure holistic product delivery within Service Line is possible.
    • Coach, motivate and develop America’s staff to optimize performance and employee capability within PD&E Service Line.

     

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Degree or equivalent in highly numeric subject or Science/Engineering based subject; Advanced degree or equivalent with suitable experience and knowledge highly desired.
    • Working towards Chartered status, if applicable, to the technical specialism.
    • At least 15 years of relevant experience, working in an engineering environment and in a consultancy firm
    • A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
    • Experience in developing renewable energy systems technology projects, preferably with a strong network in the USA..
    • Substantial project management experience is required, delivering multiple multi-disciplinary projects simultaneously
    • Knowledge, understanding and experience managing stakeholders
    • Experience in contract management is preferred
    • Demonstrated success and experience with cost-control (ideally earned value management), issue, risk, opportunity and programme management.
    • Knowledge and understanding of contractual, legal and financial implications of report findings
    • Must be eliogible to work in the USA.
