  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure is currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist. The QC Specialist supports the QC Manager by being physically present at the construction site to perform the three phases of control and prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility. This position will involve assignment to Guam.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Requires expert knowledge of reinforced concrete means and methods of construction
    • Perform periodic special inspections on definable features of work
    • Prepare and submit daily inspection logs to the QC Manager
    • Oversee concrete testing subcontractor
    • Coordinate special inspections with the Special Inspector of Record
    • Participate in QC meetings, as required
    • Verbal and written interface with project management team, QC staff and construction team members
    • Must be able to work effectively / present information in both one-on-one and in collaborative group environments
    • Additional responsibilities will be defined in the relevant process procedure

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience constructing reinforced concrete structures on heavy industrial or US Government construction projects
    • Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification by ICC
    • Solid knowledge of reinforced concrete construction practices and procedures
    • Solid knowledge of quality control documentation, practices and procedures
    • Solid knowledge of US Army Corps of Engineers three phases of control approach to quality management
    • Knowledge of computer software with experience with MS Word, MS Excel and other common business software
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to live and work in cross-cultural work setting
    • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
    • Ability to operate independently on a remote island required
    • Must pass background check for US military base access
