  • Overview / Responsibilities

     

    Wood is currently searching for certified API Inspectors to work on contract, supporting a variety of projects in house. Inspection services is a business area which we are growing, and there are several opportunities available. The API Inspector opportunities are suited to both independent contractors or individuals who are open to a contract of a year or more.  Ideal candidates will have experience in the Oil & Gas industry, have at least one API certification, and interested in working shifts on project sites.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify potential damage mechanisms
    • Ensure that the inspections performed are meeting the inspection requirements for detection
    • Recommend repairs as appropriate from inspection findings
    • Provide timely feedback of inspection results to the Wood Integrity Engineer
    • Provide oversight, interpretation, auditing and approval of NDE to be performed
    • Organize, prioritize, and execute a peak work load
    • Comply with all Wood, and client safety procedures that govern the work being performed

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Current American Petroleum Institute Certification (at least one of 510, 570 & 653)
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 5 years of experience in fixed equipment & piping inspection
    • MS Office, including Word, Excel & Outlook
    • Effective communication skills; verbal, written and interpersonal
    • Knowledge in application and compliance requirements of regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
    • Knowledge in industry standards and recommended practices (API, NFPA, ASME, etc.)
    • TWIC Card
