  • Overview / Responsibilities

    The Senior GL Accountant supports the Corporate Management team in ensuring completeness and accuracy of Company’s financial accounts and driving the development and implementation of best practices for the General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany responsibilities. Currently, Wood is looking for a Sr. GL Accountant with in-depth payroll knowledge to assist in reconciling payroll cash, payroll accruals, and payroll expense accounting.  Responsibilities and key characteristics include:

    • Month end close, including analytical review, in a timely and effective manner for all Oracle trial balances
    • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations for payroll cash, payroll accruals, and payroll expense accounts comprised of ~30,000 individuals; determining action plans to resolve reconciling differences, clearing of conversion balances, etc
    • Researching/analyzing inconsistencies in accounting treatment and areas needing improvement to determine and implement best practices across organizations
    • Supporting GL Supervisor in providing pertinent information to Finance VPs in a customer oriented manner
    • Assisting in audit requests with internal and external audit teams
    • Working to deadlines with excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Establishing excellent working relationships across the organization
    • Maintaining a positive "can do" attitude and a willingness to take on responsibility

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree and/or CPA is a plus
    • Minimum of five years experience in IFRS or US GAAP
    • Strong working knowledge of payroll, including reconciling payroll accounts in an ERP for a large organization
