  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a HR Coordinator based in our Clute, TX office. 


    The P & O Coordinator is a hands-on representative of the People and Organization (P&O) department whose primary role will support and facilitate all basic P&O administrative and compliance activities; including but not limited to, clerical duties, applicant tracking, employment processing, background check orders, testing coordination, record keeping, file maintenance and data entry. 

    •  Regular access to data entry system(s) specific to the company for the input and maintenance of employee records
    • Checking references and organizing background checks requests
    • Coordinate new hire process through company data entry systems
    • Update Onboarding Pre-Screening Tracker
    • Source and screen applicants to obtain information on work history, training and education; using an applicant tracking system
    • Order, compile and review criminal background checks, motor vehicle records and other qualifications on candidates to ensure they meet Company standards.
    • Update employee records with new information as needed and assigned
    • Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
    • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training sessions
    • May serves as the Company’s liaison with and TPA’s (collection facility, laboratory and Medical Review Office, etc.) and safety councils.
    • Respond to past employer Drug/Alcohol history requests.
    • Manage and maintain accurate employee & Company compliance files as well as general program record keeping files accurately.
    • Manage annual MVR requirements to include ordering, compiling and reviewing MVR results and other driver qualifications on Company drivers to ensure they continue to meet Company standards.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Strong communication and customer service skills
    • Familiar with applicant tracking database systems
    • Computer skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Adherence to confidentiality guidelines and employment law (local, federal, and state)
    • Gains the knowledge and skill to implement organizational processes and initiatives
    • Willingness to learn specific company software programs and client site entry requirements

    Minimum Experience

    • 2-4 years of experience in Human Resourcing
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
    • Experience in an HRIS system (namely Oracle HR) strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge of Visio, Lync and Sharepoint is a plus.

    Minimum Education and Misc Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1-3 years’ experience in the petrochemical construction industry
    • Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels and permits in English.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license or other government issued ID that is not expired
