  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Archaeology Supervisor to join our team in Jefferson City, MO; Lexington, KY; or Louisville, KY, as a technical leader assigned to conduct and direct archaeological field investigations and laboratory analysis. (Amec Foster Wheeler is now part of Wood)

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Direct surveys to identify and document archaeological sites as well as excavations to assess National Register site eligibility and large scale field and laboratory investigations to mitigate adverse impacts to significant archaeological resources
    • Direct, assign and provide oversight for duties assigned to technicians including: direction of the overall effort for pedestrian reconnaissance, shovel tests, test unit excavation, mechanical excavation monitoring, as well as site documentation and artifact analyses
    • Charged with reporting and maintaining standard records on field investigations, preparation of site descriptions and forms, photography of features and artifacts, and compilation of full reports of archaeological investigations

    Skills / Qualifications

    • M.A Preferred
    • Must be willing to take direction and work as part of a team
    • Must have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
    • Prior to employment, candidates are required to take separate drug screening and physical fitness exams which Wood will arrange

    Pay will be commensurate with education and experience.
