  • Overview / Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be required to prepare electrical and controls design drawings using AutoCAD and/or PDMS software tools. The candidate will be able to work with flexibility, while maintaining high standards and quality work. The applicant must have excellent English communication skills; must be well organized; able to work independently while maintaining close contact at all times with his/her immediate supervisor and project team.  The candidate will be capable of working in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in the use of drafting software, and other standard office software is a must. Experience in the industrial and food sector will be an asset. The successful candidate will foster an environment that generates professionalism, technical excellence, accuracy and timeliness.

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Associate Degree in Electrical/Controls design related field with 1-5 years of North American experience
    • Qualified candidates will be proficient in using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD 3D design tools as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. 3D design and modeling experience is a requirement AVEVA PDMS experience is a plus
    • Cable Tray or conduit routing design, Cable Schedule development, MCC and Control room layout experience
    • Must be able to work well within a team environment, possess strong communication skills and be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills
    • Solves problems requiring investigation and interpretation; exercises independent judgement in selecting and interpreting information and modifying standard methods and procedures
    • Liaises with clients to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
    • Possess working knowledge of the codes, regulations and guidelines such as NEC and NFPA 70E.
