  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking a Principal Technical Engineer to help manage the start-up and on-going technical service activities for clients who operate Wood licensed technologies to join our Process Technology & Consulting team in Houston.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Develop and manages a full suite of technical service offerings
    • Develop and implement technical services strategies for individual clients as assigned
    • Identify opportunities to sell Wood services to clients and support Wood sales activities with clients
    • Support marketing activities related to licensed technologies, including development of marketing materials, identification of target audiences and participation in marketing campaigns
    • Attend industry technology conferences and participates both as a delegate and as a presenter as deemed appropriate
    • Manage ongoing client relationships relative to technologies
    • Actively maintain and update technical services tracking information and databases including technical and financial data to support management revenue, profit and manpower forecasting
    • Clearly document client contacts with descriptions of operating issues and remedial action plans.
    • Develop industry wide process technology market data for company licensed technologies to ensure accurate and current knowledge of the market
    • Participate in internal and external meetings
    • Develop strategies to achieve organizations goals
    • Supports organization’s goals and values
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in chemical / process engineering
    • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in engineering, refining or petrochemicals industry or significant refining operations experience, preferably with Wood licensed technologies
    • Proven ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
    • Ability to respond well to questions
    • Ability to present technical issues and reports clearly and informatively and in a timely fashion

    Physical Demands

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and perform close vision work (reading and computer usage)
    • Employee will be required to travel domestically and internationally via airplane and automobile
