  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Review Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams for various processes and carried-out dynamic simulation
    • Design, Size and Simulate various chemical processes and units including distillation columns, heat exchangers, process pumps, control valves, and safety valves using HYSYS simulation software
    • Perform Material & Energy balance calculations
    • Oversee control system operations and methodologies, such as Proportional-Integral• Derivative controller, Open loop control, Ratio control, Cascade control to integrate Input/output modules in a unique Virtual Process Database for use by the engineering department
    • Work with Process Automation Software like Honeywell, Experion, and Foxboro to develop Training Simulators
    • Prepare and deliver the Operator Training Simulator for corporate clients and train customers in the usage of Cape Software products

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering
    • Experience designing, sizing and simulating chemical processes using control system operations with HYSYS Simulation Software preferred
