  • Overview / Responsibilities

     

    We are currently sourcing a Sr. IT Network Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX.

     

    The senior technical specialist role is to drive the delivery of infrastructure plans and services provided internally and through third parties related all areas of networking.

     

    Participate in projects to implement infrastructure plans from design to business as usual.

     

    Maintain an understanding of the implemented Infrastructure environment and provide information and exception reporting on changes and growth with their specialist area.

     

    Effectively monitor the services in their area and review for continual improvement of the service offered or the delivery from partners.

    Assure operations of the IT Infrastructure delivery against operational and cost metrics

     

    Key areas:

    • Continuous improvement and review of network services to Wood
    • Network environment management
    • Deliver services and monitor performance against SLA
    • Leading and involvement in Network related Projects and programs
    • Seamless transfer of services to BAU state
    • Technical support to architecture roadmaps
    • Supporting and implementing of Infrastructure IT strategy
    • Third line technical support as needed for escalations
    • Operational management and governance of the process and toolsets for the services provided

     

    Skills / Qualifications

     

    Qualifications:

    University degree or technical diploma in the field of computer science or another technical field - Essential

    Knowledge, skills and experience:

    • 5 years’ experience in global network operations.
    • Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and review.
    • Proven technical experience with networking, LAN, WAN, Wireless, Remote Access, firewalls, Internet.
    • Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
    • Understanding of project management principles.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
    • Understanding of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues.

    • The ability to solve problems with many variables and unique situations
