    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Proposal Manager to support our operations in the Washington DC metro area and throughout the eastern US. This full-time position will support a variety of proposal and capture management efforts for our engineering, environmental, and construction operations.


    The Proposal Manager will work with technical staff to develop proposals for industrial and government customers. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, and a self-starter able to manage several concurrent tasks independently. The Proposal Manager will interact with senior staff, project managers, subcontractors, and other proposal staff to gather, organize and synthesize material necessary for developing proposals, and marketing material as needed.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Leading the development of proposals, marketing material, client presentations, and other similar information
    • Leads capture management support activities such as capture strategy sessions aimed at the development of client research, opportunity identification, value propositions and win themes
    • Mentoring junior staff with proposal development best practices
    • Writing, editing, and proofreading proposal and other content to ensure proper messaging
    • Reviewing RFPs/RFQs to identify basic proposal requirements
    • Interviewing project managers and other technical staff to gather past project details and other relevant information
    • Leading proposal teams through storyboarding, brainstorming, and other strategic development sessions
    • Updating information in project descriptions, resumes, general qualifications to related to RFP/RFQ specifics
    • Assist offices in updating pursuit information in the companies Client Relationship Management (CRM) software
    • Working with other Proposal Managers to track, prioritize and manage workload across offices throughout the eastern US

    Skills / Qualifications

    We are seeking self-motivated professionals with the following minimum qualifications:


    • Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism or similarly relevant degree
    • 10+ years of proposal management experience, with 2+ years in a similar role, preferably in the engineering or environmental consulting field
    • Ability to understand a diverse range of technical information enough to relate past project information to subject requirements
    • Excellent writing ability, and a true passion for writing
    • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required; Experience with InDesign, adobe Creative Suite, and MS Project desired
    • Ability to manage various project simultaneously, with strict deadlines
    • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to clearly and concisely express requirements, goals, and related deadlines to a diverse group of technical and non-technical personnel
