  • Overview / Responsibilities

    Wood is currently recruiting for a Planner/Scheduler. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, this position will be located at our project construction site and may require periods of time at our office in Tucker (Atlanta), Georgia office. Assignments to projects will be determined by immediate company needs; locations of projects are not guaranteed prior to hire.

     

    The position is a salaried position with benefits packages.  This is not a contract position.  Project assignments include subsistence (LOA) and corporate assignments include reimbursed expenses for those persons not located in the metro Atlanta, Georgia Area.

    Essential Duties 

    • Principle scheduler for large EPC, construction and/or EPCM projects
    • Lead and participate in schedule/planning meetings
    • Coordinate and solicit subcontractor schedule updates
    • Develop weekly, monthly and other reports

    Other Duties

    • Verify and align internal and external reporting, project schedule and earned value measurements
    • Position may be also re-defined as project controls lead, depending on candidate qualifications
    • Issue manpower graphs, s-curves and other graphical representations of project data
    • Provide level 1 and 2 proposal schedules as requested
    • Write narratives, explaining progress, impacts, issues, concerns, etc.
    • Provide float path analysis, critical path analysis and troubleshoot schedule issues
    • Perform cost control activities 

    Skills / Qualifications

    • Software utilization
      • Primavera P6 – must be a proficient user of P6 software
      • Microsoft Excel – must be proficient user of Excel and have the capability to be a self-taught, advanced user; utilizing power query and development of connections to various data sources; Will need to develop complex graphs, pivot tables, data tables and use Excel functions to minimize manual entry
      • Microsoft Word – must be proficient user of Word; Will need to be able to develop templates, create process and procedure documents
      • Microsoft Access – must have a conceptual understanding of relational databases and how they are constructed; Must have ability to learn and become proficient user
      • Microsoft Power BI – should understand the function of the BI platform and have ability to organize data to use for dashboard development
      • Microsoft Project – knowledgeable concerning basic use of Project and capable of transferring Project schedules to Primavera
    • Experience

      • Preferred 10 years of project field experience in field engineering, project management and/or project controls (scheduling or cost)
      • Minimum 5 years scheduling experience using Primavera P6
      • Preferred experience on conventional power industry projects, specifically combustion turbines or combined cycle
    • Other qualifications

      • Technical writing experience; ability to communicate in writing, using clear and concise wording, proper syntax and accurate spelling

    Special Requirement Skill 

    Candidate must be willing to travel to job site locations and work in corporate office
