    Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Durham, NC.

Our current opening will focus on municipal and transportation clients, mainly in the public sector.


    Key Responsibilities


    • Augment leadership and the ability to mentor others in technical and character competencies.
    • Produce reports, studies, master plans and construction documents for a wide range of municipal infrastructure projects - Projects include potable water, sanitary/storm sewer, roadway design, and greenway projects
    • Provide technical leadership and assist other engineers in aligning jurisdictional agency/owner/contractor concerns
    • Take ownership of work, serving as the Engineer of Record or Project Manager, and maintain a high level of professionalism and direct project accordingly
    • Serve as primary client contact and “do good work” to maintain long term relationships
    • Provide QA/QC functions for external work products
    • Delegate work to other staff, as appropriate

    Skills / Qualifications


    • Bachelor of Science in an accredited Civil Engineering Degree
    • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina
    • Minimum ten (10) years of local experience with an emphasis on municipal clientele
    • Leadership skills and a willingness for team building and career advancement
    • Experience with public agencies including the state of North Carolina and federal agencies
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a team setting
    • Time management skills and self-motivated to continue learning


    • Leadership positions with municipal oriented associations
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation
    • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS
